Ministry shines again!
The Ministry of Women Affairs, Gender and Community Development shined again at the 2012 Sanganai/Hlanganani-World Travel and Tourism Africa Fair. The fair is an annual International Tourism trade fair organised by Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA). This is one of the most popular travel shows on the African continent that brings together tourists, exhibitors and buyers including government departments from different countries. This year’s theme was “Celebrating Africa`s Tourism Diversity.” The Ministry of Women Affairs, Gender and Community Development participated at the fair, and won the best ARTS Design Award.
GBV: Are the 4Ps the solution?
The Ministry of Women's Affairs, Gender and Community Development launched the 4Ps campaign on zero tolerance on domestic violence at the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender- Based Violence in Bulawayo in November 2011. The four Ps are prevention, protection, partnerships and programming.
Ministry retreat 2012
Since 2010, the Ministry introduced an Annual Retreat programme whose main agenda is to review the implementation of activities of the previous year, finalise plans for the following year, consolidate its budget, finalise and adopt the current year’s annual report for publication and distribution during December of the same year. The Ministry`s 2012 Annual Retreat was this time in Manicaland at Mont Clair Hotel from 29 August to 01 September 2012.
